Because of the great importance economic that having allspice in warm regions of the country and the few research works that have been made, the objective of the present research was to test to viability and emergency in seeds Pimenta dioica. The experiment was conducted in the town of El Progresso, Atzalan, Veracruz; was used a experimental design complete blocks at random, the treatments consisted of five sowing with four repetitions each at 0, 8, 16, and 32 days after harvesting, were planted 50 seeds in each sowing of which 25 seeds were pulped at sowing. The results indicated that the seeds should be sown in the first 8 days after harvesting, because that after that time the percentages of viability and germination decrease considerably; this is due to the recalcitrant character that have the seeds as they lose very fast the moisture and this makes them to have lowest percentages of germination.
