Plant parasitic nematodes are a limiting factor for the production of coffee in many parts of the world. Veracruz is the second largest entity coffee producing, providing 25% of the national volume. In regions of Huatusco and Coatepec, from 1960's, coffee farms have been registered with symptoms of involvement by phytonematodes. The work was primarily aimed for determining the presence and conditions for plant parasitic nematodes in coffee farm "La Mata" in Coatepec, Veracruz. Is suggested that chlorosis symptoms presenting coffee plants of this farm are due to the presence of plant parasitic nematodes. The study area was 100 m x 100 m where three samplings were conducted in the months of April and May. In the area was placed on diagonal form five quadrants and each one were collected 100 g. sample of soil and roots of a coffee plant from a hole 30 cm deep. In the laboratory, root samples were analyzed under the stereomicroscope and soil samples were filtered through Baerman funnel, were analyzed under the compound microscope. In the first sampling were found 7 phytonematodes, were found 22 in the second, were found 17 in the third; In total there were 47 phytonematodes, of these 57% were female and 43% were male. The phytoparasitic of this farm was identified belonged to the genus Meloidogyne. Coffee plants show symptoms of chlorosis that confirmed to be caused by Meloidogyne sp.
