Substrates for the production of the spring forest species (Tabebuia donnell-smithii) were evaluated at the Faculty of Engineering in Agricultural Production Systems located in Acayucan, Veracruz; with a completely randomized experimental design with factorial arrangement (two factors): three types of substrate (Black earth, base mix, substrate based on pine bark with agrolita) and 2 sizes of bags (15x25 cm and 25x25 cm). The combination of the factors generates 6 treatments which are made up of 20 plants with 3 repetitions. Evaluating the variables of: available moisture in each substrate and bag, plant height, stem diameter, biomass production in green matter and dry matter; and during 5 weeks, the substrate factor registered highly significant levels, while for the bag size factor and the interaction (substrate X bag size) the levels were not significant. The pine bark-based substrate with agrolita offers good results, overcoming the problem that limited the production of seedlings within the nursery of the Faculty of Engineering in agricultural production systems.
