Abstract

The general human consumption of quality protein maize could get better the nutritional level in México, especially in children, nursing mothers and old aged people. Cotaxtla Experiment Station has generated maize hybrids and varieties and produces basic and registered seed for certificate seed producers. In 2009, there was registered H-564C, in regard to the Inspection and certification National Service (SNICS), with number 2257-MAZ-1133-300609/C. In the last three years, there was promoted the seed production and distribution of H-564C. During 2010 to 2012, there were distributed 695 kg of the cross LT158xLT159 and 265 kg of the inbred line LT160 of registered seed for planting 48 hectares of H-564C seed production and there was gotten 144 tons of certificated seed, which of them were utilized in 7,200 of commercial planting hectares of H-564C in the tropic of Mexico. In a sample of 14 farmers in 17.5 hectares of commercial sowing there was gotten 7.11 t ha-1 in grain yield.
