Abstract

In order to know the yield, agronomic traits and the selection process of quality protein maize inbred lines, during the spring summer season in 2012, there were evaluated at Cotaxtla experiment station, 128 inbred lines converted to quality protein character. There was utilized alpha látice design with two replications in plots of one row 2.5 m long and 80 cm wide. The traits evaluated were: Plant and ear height, days to tassel and silking, plant and ear aspect and sanity, ears with bad husk cover, ear rots, grain yield and grain texture. The best inbred lines were: FAMV537C-2-1-1, FAMV537C-1-1-1, (D-539XCML144)F2XD539RC₂-1-1, (LT155 XCML144) LT155RC₂-2-1-1, (LT154XCML144)LT154RC₂-5-1-1 y (CABGXCML144) CABG RC₂-1-1-1, with 7.32, 6.61, 6.39, 5.92, 5.48 and 5.04 t ha-, respectively.
