Physiological quality of soybean [Glycine max. (L.) Merr.] seed, produced in two regions of Mexico

The aim was to evaluate the physiological quality of soybean [Glycine max. (L.) Merr.] seed, produced in two environments of Mexico, through both, accelerated aging vigour test and standard germination test. The varieties were: Huasteca 100, Huasteca 200, Huasteca 300, Huasteca 400 and Tamesí. The seed was produced in two locations: Rioverde, S. L. P. and Altamira, Tamps. The evaluated treatments were: 1) Control and 2) Accelerated aging. The variables measured were: viability, germination, abnormal seedlings, dead seeds and vigor. The viability, germination percentages and seed vigor was higher (P<0.01) in Rioverde, S. L. P. The varieties Tamesí and Huasteca 100 had a better viability and germination (P<0.01), it showed the best vigour also (P<0.01). The interactions showed better seed quality in Rioverde, S. L. P. with both, Tamesí and Husteca 100 varieties, Tamesí showed favorable results in Altamira, Tamps., too. The higher vigour was for Tamesí in Rioverde, S. L. P.
