Abstract

To determine dry matter content and starch on eight cassava clones collected at Veracruz State was the objective. To obtain root´s dry matter using yield of fresh root the specific gravity method was used. A root sample per clone was weighted not less than 3 kilograms, wich is called root fresh weigh in air (Wa) and this sample was submerged in water to calculate root fresh weight in water (Ww): this

from 24.21 to 33.71% and starch superior values were 18.03 and 16.91%. The best clone for these parameters was MMEXV5 and less important clones were MMEXV4 and MMEXV5.
