Abstract

In order to determine the agronomic performance of maize genotypes were evaluated in 21 locations within the Paso de ovejas, Ver, during the autumn-winter 2012-13 under rainfed conditions. Treatments were corn genotypes, to which four replicates were assigned using a completely randomized design. The variables were analyzed using the statistical package SAS using the GLM procedure. There were highly significant differences (P ˃ 0.01) between locations and genotypes for all variables except for the variables health, lodging and vigor. The highest grain yield was observed in genotypes A7573, DK-380 and Criollo Black (mean locations) with 7163.0, 6957.2 and 6948.7 kg ha-1, respectively. Landraces were higher in vegetative attributes variables and components of stubble, so they were more late-flowering male and female, meanwhile, inferior results were observed in lines and hybrids. The highest grain yield detected in the towns of Xocotitla and El Limón (average genotypes) with 6956.2 and 6497.6 kg ha-1, respectively. While for stover yield occurred in the towns of El Limon and Patancan. In the municipality of Paso de ovejas has potential for the production of corn varieties being CP-560 and CP-562 an alternative for use in the production of grain, and similar results were obtained (7.4%) compared to average of the best performing genotypes.
