Abstract

The avocado, which belongs to the Lauraceae family, is a crop widely valued for its fruit in Mexico, Central and South America. Although it is a global crop present in tropical and subtropical climates, its production is mainly in the Americas, with Mexico being the world's leading producer. Although the economic importance of identifying and managing species that cause damage in orchards has been documented, research on pollinators and floral visitors has been limited. Efficient pollination, especially by Apis mellifera, is crucial for avocado crop productivity. With the intention of providing valuable information for growers and future growers, I have compiled data from reliable sources to facilitate the establishment of avocado orchards and reduce possible complications in this process.
