The objective of this study was to identify the causal agent of leaf Soft Rot on African Violet (Saintpaulia ionantha Wendlan), in Tenango de las Flores, Huachinango, Puebla. After Koch´s postulates were completed, the causal agent was identified as Erwinia chrysanthemi. This pathogen is considerable the most important bacteria disease in Violet African duo to the high damage in the leaves. Under favorable conditions of climate, the symtoms of the disease includes spot rot aqueous. The asexual reproduction is important factor of spread of the disease due if infections focus to the most speed reproduction causing the leaves death and later of the whole plant.
