The study consisted of comparing the population development of two earthworm species Eisenia fetida and Eisenia andreí on three types of substrates: bovine manure, rabbit manure and a mixture of the two. Containers with one kilo of substrate were used, with 20 worms. The experimental design was a factorial arrangement with random blocks. The variables considered were number of buds, young and adult worms for the composition of the population and length of the worm, weight of the worm and weight of the humus for the yield. The data was emptied into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. A comparison of Tukey's means (p≤ 0.05) was performed. The results indicated that the T1 treatment (Eisenia andrei + bovine manure) and the T4 treatment (Eisenia fetida + bovine manure) were the best in reproductive issues and presented the best population composition (buds, juveniles and adults). The T2 treatments (Eisenia andrei + rabbit manure) and the T5 treatment (Eisenia fetida + rabbit manure), presented the lowest amounts of earthworms, but were the best treatments in terms of weight gain and average length of the worm. Therefore the best substrate was the mixture of bovine manure plus rabbit manure, since it meets the requirements of the worm, so that the species develops and maintains a balanced composition of the population
