From 2021 to February 2022, samplings of pests were carried out in Persian lemon orchards in the municipality of Sayula de Alemán, Veracruz, Mexico. In this investigation, parasitized Papilio cresphontes eggs were collected, which were kept in plastic containers until the emergence of parasitoids. As a result, it was obtained that in three of the collected eggs emerged a total of 57 specimens of the parasitoid wasp Telenomus sp. which belongs to the superfamily Platygastroidea, family Scelionidae and subfamily Telenominae (Lubomir and Hanson, 2006a and 2006b, Masner and Arias-Penna 2006a and 2006b). The duration of the larval stage varied between four to seven days at a temperature of 30 and 15.5 °C respectively. The identification was corroborated by experts from the Biological Control Department of the National Reference Center for Biological Control (CNRF). It is concluded that the Persian lemon orchards in the region are newly established, therefore both the pests that attack it and the parasitoid and predatory organisms of these are relatively new.
