The objective of the present study was to evaluate the applications of Promesol Calcium to improve the physical and chemical properties in a saline soil, to obtain a better germination of tomato seeds under greenhouse conditions. The methods consisted of the combination of sand and calichoso soil, in a ratio of 3:1 with a C.E. equal to or greater than 4 dS m-1. The seed used for this investigation was tomato of the Brillante variety. The experimental design used was in complete random blocks with four replications; in turn, each replication consisted of four pots, using 16 seeds for each treatment. The treatments were Control, Promesol Ca 1.0 ml L-1 water, Promesol Ca 1.5 ml L-1 water, Promesol Ca 2 ml L-1 water. Three Promesol Ca applications were made; the first application was on June 30, July 1 and 2, 2014, the second from August 5 to 7 and the third from September 8 to 10. The results indicate that there was a positive effect of calcium promesol on the physical and chemical properties of the soil, resulting in greater germination of tomato seeds in saline soils.
